Harvest 2023: Ukraine has harvested over 33 million tons of new crops

As of the last day of summer, farmers from all regions of Ukraine have harvested over 33 million tons of new crops, including 29,184,000 tons of cereals and over 4 million tons of oilseeds.

The harvest of cereals and legumes was carried out on an area of ​​6,642,000 hectares with a yield of 43.9 quintals per hectare, including:

  • Wheat was threshed on 4,688,000 hectares (yield – 47.2 quintals per hectare), yielding 22,142,000 tons;
  • Barley was threshed on 1,498,000 hectares (yield – 38.8 quintals per hectare), yielding 5,809,000 tons;
  • Peas were threshed on 154,000 hectares (yield – 25 quintals per hectare), yielding 385,700 tons;
  • Buckwheat was threshed on 19,800 hectares (yield – 14 quintals per hectare), yielding 27,700 tons;
  • Millet was threshed on 16,700 hectares (yield – 20.4 quintals per hectare), yielding 34,100 tons;
  • Other cereals and legumes were threshed on 265,300 hectares, yielding 785,400 tons.

The harvest of oilseeds is also underway:

  • Rapeseed yielded 3,997,000 tons of seeds (yield – 28.7 quintals per hectare) and was threshed on an area of ​​1,393,000 hectares.
  • Sunflower yielded 49,400 tons of seeds (yield – 19.3 quintals per hectare) and was harvested on an area of ​​25,600 hectares.
  • Soybeans yielded 30,600 tons (yield – 27.3 quintals per hectare) with a harvesting area of 11,200 hectares.

Farmers from 17 regions have completed the rapeseed harvest.

The largest harvest is in Odessa region with 3.2 million tons.

The highest yield of cereals and legumes is in Khmelnytskyi region at 64.5 quintals per hectare.

Agricultural producers in Vinnytsia, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Poltava, Kharkiv, Cherkasy, and Chernihiv regions have started harvesting buckwheat and millet, while in Odessa, Ternopil, and Kherson regions, they are harvesting millet.
