Sowing of winter crops is actively ongoing in Ukraine. Farmers from all regions, except for Transcarpathia, have already sown 1,155 thousand hectares, including 905.9 thousand hectares of winter rapeseed and 249 thousand hectares of winter cereals (wheat – 228.6 thousand hectares, barley – 10.8 thousand hectares, and rye – 9.5 thousand hectares).
In the previous week, 251 thousand hectares of winter rapeseed were sown, and 204 thousand hectares of winter cereals for grain.
Farmers from the Volyn, Poltava, Rivne, Sumy, Ternopil, and Chernivtsi regions have completed the sowing of winter rapeseed.
The largest area of winter cereals was sown by farmers from the Sumy region – 25.9 thousand hectares, or 50% of the forecast, and winter rapeseed – by farmers from the Dnipropetrovsk region – 93.4 thousand hectares, or 74.4% of the forecast.
