Ukrainian farmers have sown winter crops on 4,985 thousand hectares. Four regions—Volyn, Zakarpattia, Zaporizhzhia, and Poltava—have completed the sowing of winter crops. Agricultural producers in all regions of Ukraine have also completed the sowing of winter rapeseed, with a total of 1,136 thousand hectares planted.
According to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, as of October 16, farmers have sown 3.02 million hectares of winter wheat, compared to 2.5 million hectares on the same date last year.
In the remaining regions, the sowing of wheat, barley, and rye continues. In total, farmers have already sown 3,849 thousand hectares of winter cereals, including 3,456 thousand hectares of wheat, 322 thousand hectares of barley, and 71 thousand hectares of rye.
The increase in sown area for winter cereals over the week amounted to 506 thousand hectares.
